Overview:

The QLogic 3200 Series Intelligent Ethernet Adapters boast industry-leading networking performance, with dual-port throughput equaling approximately 40Gbps. The adapters are designed for use in virtualized environments, with support for industry-standard SR-IOV and QLogic’s unique NIC Partitioning feature. NIC Partitioning allows a user to divide a physical Ethernet port into four virtual ports with flexible, user-defined allocation of 10Gbps bandwidth.

The QLogic 3200 Series Intelligent Ethernet Adapters come in single- and dual-port models with support for SFP+ direct attach copper cables and both SR (short reach) and LR (long reach) optical transceivers.

3200 Series.
The 3200 Series of 10Gbps Intelligent Ethernet Adapters are designed for applications such as virtualization, network security appliances, cluster computing, IP content delivery systems, grid computing, database clustering, network attached storage (NAS), and storage and backup servers.

High Performance.
The 3200 Series adapters boast industry-leading networking performance, with bidirectional dual-port throughput equalling approximately 40Gbps. This performance makes the adapter suitable for high-bandwidth applications, as well as applications that require network scaling.

VMflex.
With QLogic's new VMflex technology, one Intelligent Ethernet Adapter is viewed by the server OS as multiple standalone NICs (up to four per physical Ethernet port), with the ability to allocate guaranteed bandwidth to each virtual adapter. NIC Partitioning eliminates purchasing and installing multiple, physical 1GbE NIC adapters that are dedicated to specific server applications or tasks (networking, backup, management, etc). These virtual adapters can also be assigned to individual virtual machines (VMs) to provide QoS, security, and higher system performance in virtualized servers. This unique feature can be switch dependent or switch agnostic—it is not necessary to pair a 3200 Series adapter with any specific 10GbE switch model to enable partitioning.

The 3200 Series adapters also feature industry-standard SR-IOV support, which provides broad interoperability, ease of device configuration/ management, and improved system performance in a virtualized environment.
